A Colorful + Bright Playroom with TONS of Storage!!
We absolutely ADORE organizing playrooms!! If you've been following our adventures on Instagram, you might have noticed that every time we tackle a playroom, it’s like a mini celebration for us! They burst with color and radiate joy, transforming into magical wonderlands of creativity and imagination! We can’t get enough of the playful chaos that comes with kids’ toys! There’s something incredibly satisfying about mixing the larger, eye-catching toys on shelves, allowing them to take center stage while simultaneously tucking the smaller, more intricate toys into cozy bins for effortless cleanup. It’s all about creating a delightful balance that not only makes the space look spectacular but also invites kids to jump right in and play! After all, a tidy playroom means more fun and less fuss!
This playroom transformed from a blank canvas into a vibrant and organized paradise! Our client recently moved into her new home, and we were thrilled to help her revamp her playroom by ordering stunning new cabinetry. After years of organizing together, she aced the moving process, keeping everything neatly sorted and categorized in bins!
This project took us a few days of dedicated work, but oh, was it worth it! We built the stylish Ikea storage system and the sturdy lockers from Home Depot, and we also hung charming book ledges that set the stage for a whimsical reading nook.
Next came the fun part: filling those ledges with books! We adore utilizing the ledges from Walmart, which provide just the right touch. We carefully sorted the collection: board books found a cozy home on the little shelves in the center of the entertainment unit, while holiday-themed books and book sets proudly occupied the main shelves. Regular children's books overflowed onto the ledges, inviting curious little minds to explore.

Let’s dive into the wonderful world of Lockers! These are absolutely genius for a playroom setup! This was our first experience incorporating lockers into a playroom design, and if you have the space, we can't recommend them enough! Most of the toys come from LOVEVERY, and our client already had them perfectly sorted by age, which made our job much easier.
Here’s the game plan:
Categorize all toys into dedicated piles.
Assess the size of each pile to determine which bins will fit best.
If you have extra shelf space, utilize it for toys! If a toy doesn't quite fit into a designated bin, that’s perfectly fine—just place it beside the bin or, if it has a lid, you can stack it on top.
Reserve the top of the lockers for any tall or bulky toys that need a home.
Label EVERYTHING! Labels take the guesswork out of clean-up time. When the toys have a designated place, cleanup becomes a breeze! Extra points if your kids can read the labels and pitch in!
