See what's in our toolbag!

Hey y’all!

Really… this is for our fellow organizers / DIY friends! I found this tool bag on sale on Amazon + I just freaking love it.

For 5 years (!!) I’ve been building up the correct supplies that I need at our jobs.. you never know what can/could pop up + you want to be prepared!

Here’s a complete list of what I LOVE/HAVE to keep close by for each job:

SHOP PRODUCTS HERE!

  • It’s nice to just get a tool set so you don’t have to buy everything individually! But you want these things FOR SURE in your tool set:

    • HAMMER

    • PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW DRIVER

    • FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER

    • LEVEL

    • ALLEN WRENCH SET

  • THIS IS THE BEST TAPE MEASURE… DON’T GET ANY OTHER ONE, THIS ONE IS SPOT ON!!!

  • Stud Finder

  • A good anchor set is a must… especially the self drilling ones.

  • Gotta have a nice picture hanging set — love having gold nails!

  • Also….. WHEN GOING INTO STUDS… you really want wood screws! They go in so well, it’s crazy.

  • For our day to day needs, we always have :

    • Double-sided tape on hand, the clear + the white.

    • Black Adhesive Hooks, a little more of an elevated look than 3m hooks

    • White bin clips for labeling!

    • Brother label maker for labels.. duh.

  • Invest in a good drill! We love Ridgid.. they have a set that is a regular drill + a compact drill, but are a necessity at big projects!

  • Box cutters… lordy… we open + break down soooo many boxes for recycling!

  • Airpods for concentrated work…. :)

  • For all these needs, I really love getting clear pouches to separate everything out!

  • And FOR ALL THE AFTER PHOTOS / VIDS…. a tripod that works! This is like our 7th tripod + we love it!

Warmer weather is right around the corner and we are ready for a Spring refresh! We partnered with At Home to give a space a little makeover for Spring! At Home is a decor superstore that makes our hearts go pitter patter over all of the gorgeous decor choices from furniture to rugs to organization items to styling accessories!

We moved into our house 3 years ago and it was a COMPLETE fixer upper built in 1977. We have spent the last few years renovating every space; the bathrooms, the bedrooms, and the kitchen. But we had one room that had not been touched since move in day. The garage was converted by the previous owner into two large rooms and my husband uses one as his office/studio. The other room was just our catch-all ,because we don’t have a garage, so it was full of unused furniture, a deep freezer, tools, boxes…everything! Not a space I was proud of as a professional organizer and it was a huge waste of square footage! So we decided 2021 was the year we were going to make it a spot for our whole family to enjoy. We desperately needed a bonus space in our home to act as a second living room/playroom. With the help of At Home we gave it a complete makeover!

Check out this before and after!

The items from At Home were the cherry on top to finish the room and makes it feel warm and inviting! One of my favorite parts was creating this family gallery wall above the sofa! At Home has so many picture frames to choose from and made it so fun to put this wall together. I loved adding this personalized touch to the room in a way that also looks beautiful!

I wanted a mirror to go above the cube organizer to help reflect the light in the space, directly across from the windows and I found the perfect round mirror at At Home! This brass butterfly mirror is so gorgeous, unique, and the perfect size! And it goes seamlessly with the brass frames of the gallery wall!

We try to add greenery to every space to bring in some life and a pop of color! At Home has a vast array of faux plants so you can find the perfect ones for your home! I was smitten with this olive tree and snake plant and they are so good in the room! And the prices can’t be beat!

You know we love a good statement lamp and I had a hard time choosing one for this space because there were so many COOL lamps!! I finally settled on this brass floor lamp and I couldn’t be happier with my choice…it is SO SO perfect!

And you always have to add in some coziness and texture with some throw pillows, throws, and baskets. I honestly never want to leave this room because it feels so inviting!

Every good family space needs a way to prop your feet up and relax for a few minutes….enter these poufs! I love that I can use them to prop my feet up while watching some Netflix and also pull them up to my kids play table as little seats for them while they color and draw!

We are so in love with this space! We are blown away with our items from At Home and how amazingly they finished out this room! Head to At Home this spring to give your home a little refresh! You can go into the store or shop their website and have the items delivered to your door or pickup curbside!!

While functionality and beauty are at the top of our list when organizing a client’s home, or even our own homes, SAFETY is our very top priority always!

While working on an organizing job, we put liquid laundry packets and cleaning products up and out of reach because we know parents and caregivers (ourselves included) are busy. We want to make sure these items are out of the reach of children and pets when parents and caregivers are distracted because we know what life is like for parents, grandparents, babysitters, etc.

Before After

Before + After

We have learned from our friends at The American Cleaning Institute that laundry packets are best stored:

- high and out of sight/reach

- in their original containers

- with their lids completely closed and sealed after each use
