Styling FAQ’s
Where to start?
Now that you’ve purchased a Styling Board + Links, please make sure to measure your space to ENSURE that the pieces will certainly fit in your room. Some items *can* come in different sizes, so double check those measurements!
Check these things when purchasing:
Measurements for big pieces of furniture
How many windows you have, and how many panels come with the link to purchase. We recommend two curtain panels per window.
How big your walls are in reference for mirror size and art size
How do I hang curtains?
We love to hang curtains at around 90-96 inches high, that way you give the look of taller ceilings. We also like to place brackets as closet to 10 inches out from each side of the window to take up more wall space so you have plenty of room to open up the curtains, and not block natural light.
How do I hang art?
We start at a little above eye level for hanging pieces of art or picture frames. When hanging above a bed/couch, you want to center the piece on the wall and hang it similarly to another wall, but want to watch out for anyone being able to hit the piece with their head or arms.
How do I change lighting?
We highly recommend hiring an electrician for any lighting changes in your home.
How do I hang items, especially heavy items on the wall?
First off, you can totally do it!! We learned + now we are experts on hanging items on a wall. You really want to find a stud in the wall for anything heavy. This is our favorite studfinder. For anything going into drywall, we really do recommend a great anchor + screw set. These are the ones we use every day on the job!
For anything light, and not heavy at all (especially art with a wire) use this picture hanging kit for easy install.
